i am completely in love, in more ways than one. our wedding weekend at the grand hotel on mackinac island was pure magic.

i always knew what i wanted my wedding to feel like: timeless. the kind of photos you can’t place in a specific decade. i was going for a vibe that was classic and fun, playful yet sophisticated, and had just a little hint of an early 2000s rom-com.

so when we got engaged, i knew it had to be mackinac island. i wanted to give our guests a true escape to a magical place, and the grand hotel was it. it’s not just its title as the best hotel in michigan; it’s the feel of the place. the carleton varney and dorothy draper style inside is just so me. it was perfect.

every part of our celebration felt so special. we held our rehearsal dinner in the newly renovated lilac room at the pool house. blake and i stayed in the carleton varney suite (a dream!). we said our vows in the tea garden, sipped cocktails on the porch, and danced the night away to a nine-piece band in the theater before finishing the night at the pink pony club.

and you know, like all weddings, we had our little hiccups. but at the end of the day, it was absolute perfection.
